Anu Viheriäranta was born in Helsinki, Finland. She got ballet education in Dance Institute in Helsinki and in Royal Ballet School in London. In 1999-2004 she is the Soloist of Finish National Ballet. Her repertory includes Juliet (Romeo&Juliet by Cranko), Solo Pas d'action 4 tall girls, Nikiya (La Bayadère by Makarova), solo parties (The Sleeping Beauty by Nureyev), solos in Giselle by Sylvie Guilleum and Swan Lake by Bourmeister, Helena (Midsummer Night's Dream by Heinz Spoerli), Henriette (Raymonda by Ann-Marie Holmes & Kevin McKenzie), main party (Cinderella by Ben Stevenson), Clara (Nutcracker and Mouseking by Toer van Schaykin&Wayne Eagling), Odette/Odile (Swan Lake by Rudi van Dantzig).

She also performs in ballets by George Balanchine, Ted Bransen, Glen Tetley, Jiři Kylian, David Dawson, Jorma Elo, Patrice Bart and others.

Since 2005 she has been the Soloist of the Dutch National Ballet, where she enriches her repertory by the parties from ballets by Rudi van Dantzig, Peter Wright, Merce Cunningham, Krzysztof Pastor, Hans van Manen, Balanchine, William Forsythe, Christopher Wheeldon.

Anu Viheriäranta is awarded Prix de Lausanne Espoir (1998), Pro Dance Finnish grant (1997) and Small dance fower award of Finnish National Ballet (2000).
