Benois de la Danse laureate

He was born in São Paolo/Brazil and received his education at the Ballet School of his home town and the Academy of Dance in Mannheim. He joined the Hamburg Ballet in 2001 and was promoted to Soloist in 2005 and to Principal in 2006. John Neumeier has created solos for him in Préludes CV, in Nocturnes and Nachtwanderung from Lieder der Nacht, in Verklungene Feste as well as The Angel in Weihnachtsoratorium in 2007. In 2009 Neumeier created Danse Siamoise in Le Pavillon d'Armide for him. His repertory in John Neumeier's ballets is diverse and includes several roles in Nijinsky as well as Armand and Des Grieux in Neumeier's Lady of the Camellias, Kostja in Die Möwe, the title role in Othello and the male title role in his Romeo und Julia, among others. Marco Goecke created a solo for him in Beautiful Freak.

He also danced James in Pierre Lacotte's La Sylphide in 2008. Thiago Bordin also works as a choreographer. His 2009 creation A Foreign Sound has been in the repertory of the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe since 2009.
