Viktoria Tereshkina was born in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, and graduated in 2001 from the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet (class of Marina Vasilieva). The same year, she joined the ballet company of the Mariinsky Theater.

Tereshkina’s repertoire includes Giselle (Giselle, Myrtha), Le Corsaire (Medora), La Bayadère (Nikia, Gamzatti), The Sleeping Beauty (Aurora, Gold Fairy, Diamond Fairy), Swan Lake (Odette/Odilele), Raymonda (Raymonda), Paquita — Grand pas, Don Quixote (Kitri), Schéhérazade (Zobeide), the Firebird (Firebird), Romeo and Juliet (Juliet), Spartacus (Phrygia), Legend of Love (Mekhmeneh Bahnu), Grand pas classique, Balanchine’s Apollo, Serenade, Symphony in C, A Midsummer Night's Dream (Titania), Theme and Variations, The Four Temperaments, Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux, Jewels (Rubies, Diamonds), Ballet Imperial and Tarantella, as well as ballets by Jerome Robbins, Roland Petit, Kenneth MacMillan, Frederick Ashton, Harald Lander, Alberto Alonso, Pierre Lacotte, Alexei Ratmansky, Svetlana Anufrieva, Kirill Simonov, Alexei Miroshnichenko, Peter Quanz, Yuri Smekalov, Angelin Preljocaj and Wayne McGregor.

She toured with the Mariinsky Theater to Great Britain, Germany, The Netherlands, Norway and China.

Tereshkina was a prize winner at the Arabesque-2006 International Ballet Competition in Perm and recipient of Ballet magazine’s Spirit of Dance prize in the category “Rising Star” in 2006 and of the Golden Sofit (St. Petersburg, 2005, 2006). In 2010 and 2011, she won the “Ms Virtuosa” prize at the DANCE OPEN International Ballet Festival in St. Petersburg.

In 2008, Tereshkina was awarded the title Honored Artist of Russia.
