Jury member of Benois de la Danse

She was born in 1959. Choi, Tae-Ji received her dancing education in Kaitani Ballet Academy and Bunka Gakuin College, Japan. She also studied at Franguetti Bailet Academy, France, Joffrey Ballet Academy, USA and School of Mass Communication, Sogang University, Korea.

She begins her dancing career as the Principal Dancer at Kaitani Ballet Company in Japan (1973-1980), then at Korea National Ballet Company (1987-1992). in 1993 she starts her pedagogical career at the same company. In 1996-2000 she is the Artistic Director of this company. In 2000-2005 she is the ballet teacher and organizer. She is engaged as General Director at Chongdong Theater, the Lecturer at Sungkyunkwan University, Korea, the Trustee of various Korean and Japanese Foundations, member of different organizations and Committees.

She participates as the Jury member in International Ballet competitions: Lausanne (1999 ), Japan (1999/2001/ 2003), Moscow (2001) Kazan (2001). In 2000 she was Member of the Expert Committee at Monaco Dance Forum. In 1996 she is awarded Prima Ballerina Award by the Korea Ballet Association, in 1999 she won Mrs. Kim, Myung-Rim (Choi Tae-Ji's mother) Artists Great. In 2001 she receives Mother Award from Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Korea and Award of Distinguished Service by the Korea Ballet Association. She is the author of two books: “I am Dancing As a Principal Dancer of My Life”, Autobiography, 2000, “Happy, Ballet”, Essay, 2001. She has been the regular Columnist of Seoul large Newspapers.

She created ballet theater for family named “The Dream of The Little Match girl” adapted from H. C. Andersen's fairy tale.
