GALA-CONCERT OF THE WORLD BALLET STARS NOMINEES OF BENPOS-2025 AND AWARDIING OF THE LAUREATES

The jury for this year included prominent figures from the ballet world: Svetlana Zakharova, Patrick De Bana, Nacho Duato, Yukari Saito, Tamás Solymosi, Andrey Uvarov, and Qu Zijiao.

This year, the works of five choreographers were nominated for the Prize. On the evening of June 25th, the jury announced the winner in the “Best Choreography” category — Marco Goecke (“In the Dutch Mountains”“, Bela Bartok, Johannes Brahms, NITS, THIS MORTAL COIL, Nederlands Dans Theater).

Soloists from eight leading dance companies around the world competed for the title of laureate this year. The Benois statuette for “Best Female Dancer” went to Olesya Novikova (Aspiccia, “La Fille du Pharaon”, C.Pugni/M.Petipa, T.Candeloro, Mariinsky theatre, St Petersburg, Russia), and Gergő Ármin Balázsi (Leon, “The Pigmalion Effect”, J.Strauss/B.Eifman, Hungarian National Ballet, Hungary) and Artemy Belyakov (Ivan IV, “Ivan the Terrible”, S.Prokofiev/Y.Grigorovich, Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, Moscow) were named the best male dancers.

GALA CONCERRT BENOIS DE LA DANSE STARS — LAUREATES OF DIFFERENT YEARS.

The program boasts works of different dance styles. The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

On the second evening, stars from leading ballet companies around the world took to the stage. Representing the Bolshoi Theatre were: Svetlana Zakharova, Artemiy Belyakov, Evgenia Obraztsova, Artem Ovcharenko, and Denis Rodkin. From the Mariinsky Theatre - Olesya Novikova, Ekaterina Kondaurova, Konstantin Zverev. From the Tokyo Ballet - Akira Akiyama and Arata Miyagawa. From the Liaoning Ballet Troupe - Sun Huixin and Zhang Haidong. The Mikhailovsky Theatre was represented by presented: Irina Perren, Danila Khamzin, and Ivan Zaytsev.

The ballet director of Moscow State Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre, Maksim Sevagin, presented his new work "The King and the Jester," created specifically for this evening. The Yakobson Ballet Theatre showed a fragment of "Mischievous Couplets" choreographed by Benois laureate Vyacheslav Samodurov.
