GALA-CONCERT OF THE WORL BALLET STARS NOMINEES OF BENOIS-2024 AND AWARDING OF THE LAUREATES.

The International Ballet Festival Benois de la Danse took place on the Historic Stage of the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, and the Benois Prix, known worldwide as the “Ballet Oscar” was presented. Artistic Director of the Benois de la Danse Programme and Chairman of the Jury of the Prize is international ballet star — Svetlana Zakharova. The President is distinguished choreographer Yuri Grigorovich.

The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

In the evening of June 25th, on the Historic Stage of the Bolshoi Theatre, the names of the new laureates of the Benois-2024 Prize were solemnly announced. They are: choreographer Marco Goecke (“In the Dutch Mountains,” B. Bartok, J. Brahms, NITS, THIS MORTAL COIL, Dutch Dance Theatre), prima ballerina of the Mariinsky Theatre Olesya Novikova (Aspicia, ballet “The Pharaoh’s Daughter,” C. Pugni/M. Petipa, T. Candeloro), premier of the Bolshoi Theatre Artemiy Belyakov (Tsar Ivan IV, “Ivan the Terrible,” S. Prokofiev/Y. Grigorovich, Bolshoi Theatre of Russia), and soloist of the Hungarian National Ballet Gergo Armin Balazhi (Leon, “The Effect of Pygmalion,” J. Strauss II/B. Eifman, Hungarian National Ballet, Budapest).

GALA CONCERRT BENOIS DE LA DANSE STARS — LAUREATES OF DIFFERENT YEARS.

The program boasts works of different dance styles. The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

On the second evening, stars from leading ballet companies around the world took to the stage. Representing the Bolshoi Theatre were: Svetlana Zakharova, Artemiy Belyakov, Evgenia Obraztsova, Artem Ovcharenko, and Denis Rodkin. From the Mariinsky Theatre - Olesya Novikova, Ekaterina Kondaurova, Konstantin Zverev. From the Tokyo Ballet - Akira Akiyama and Arata Miyagawa. From the Liaoning Ballet Troupe - Sun Huixin and Zhang Haidong. The Mikhailovsky Theatre was represented by presented: Irina Perren, Danila Khamzin, and Ivan Zaytsev.

The ballet director of Moscow State Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre, Maksim Sevagin, presented his new work "The King and the Jester," created specifically for this evening. The Yakobson Ballet Theatre showed a fragment of "Mischievous Couplets" choreographed by Benois laureate Vyacheslav Samodurov.
