Soloist Dancer in Royal Swedish Ballet 1991, Principal Dancer 1993, Dancer of the Court 2004. After her ballet education at the Royal Theatre Ballet School and the Swedish Ballet School Marie Lindqvist joined the Royal Swedish Ballet, became solo dancer in 1991 and principal dancer in 1993.

She has made guest appearances in Germany, Portugal, Japan, China, USA among others. Her roles include Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, title role in Cinderella, Giselle and Romeo and Juliet. Hippolyta/Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Solveig in Peer Gynt, Mary Vetsera in Mayerling, Bianca in Taming of the Shrew, title role in Firebird, Tatyana in Onegin and solo parts in ballets by Par Isberg, Birgit Cullberg, George Balanchine, Ulysses Dove, Mats Ek, Per Jonsson, Birgit Akesson, Jiri Kylian, William Forsythe, Twyla Tharp, Krzysztof Pastor, Nacho Duato among others.
