A graduate of the Poznan ballet school (1986). He debuted as the Prince in Cinderella at the Wroc╛law Opera. He was a soloist and then principal dancer of the Teatr Wielki in Lodz in 1988-1991, dancing many leading parts in classical and modern repertoire, including his showpiece performance as John in Lorca Massine's Zorba the Greek. He was a great success dancing the same part at the National Opera in Warsaw; he joined this theatre as a first soloist in 1991. From that time he has danced all the leading male ballet parts at this theatre as well as giving guest performances in Poland and abroad. He is a prize-winner of the Third International Ballet Competition in New York (1990) and the First World Ballet Com╛petition in Nagoya (1993).
He is a recipient of the Wojcikowski Medal and the Wyspianski Young Artists1 Award (1991). In Warsaw, he has performed the lead male parts in Swan Lake, Giselle, The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, La Gitana and Romeo and Juliet. He was Jose in our theatre's production of Mats Ek's Carmen; he danced the part of the Herald in Dies Irae, Vaslav in Games, the Man in Returning Waves, title parts in Harnasie and The Mira╛culous Mandarin, and the Dancer in Sacred Spring (all by Wesolo-wski); he has also danced D'Artagnan, Aramis and Athos in Three Musketeers by Prokovsky, and Guido in La Dolce Vita by Zofia Rudnicka. In 2003 he was a great success dancing the title part in Boris Eifman's ballet Tchaikovsky — The Mystery of Life and Death, in 2004 Soior and The Golden Idol in Minkus's La Bayadere and The Male Solo╛ist in Balanchine's Serenade and Ejfman's Musagete. Together with the Warsaw ballet company, he has performed in Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Israel, Argentina, Brazil, Cyprus and Canada; he has also given performances in Latvia, the United Kingdom, Finland and, on many occasions, the United States. He is a judge of the Polish national ballet competitions in Gdansk.
In 1998, he debuted in Warsaw as a choreographer in 1998, preparing a piece called Only Love… to the music of Albinoni, in 2001 he worked together with Emil Wesolowski on the ballet Sacred Spring and in 2005, he designed the choreo╛graphy for the ballet Comi*-Comedy produced on our theatre's Small Stage.
He was also the author of the choreography for the 2004 production of Cilea's Adriana Lecouvreur at the Teatr Wielki in Lodz. He has been the Teatr Wielki — National Opera's principal dancer since 2000. In May 2005, he danced the title role in a guest performance at the premiere of the ballet The Count of Monte Cristo, reconstructed at Poznan's Teatr Wielki and choreographed and directed by Waldemar Wolk-Karaczewski.
