Benois de la Danse nominee

Born in 1981 in Suhl, Germany. In 1992 attended the Berlin State Ballet School and graduated in 2000. In 2000-2002 danced at the Munich National Opera with the Bavarian State Ballet. In 2002 joined the Berlin State Ballet and soon promoted to the Soloist, from 2010 working as a Principal dancer there.

He successfully participated in various International ballet competitions and won the following awards: 1st Prize at Vienna Competition (2004), 3rd Prize at the International Ballet Competition in Helsinki (2005); Prize at the International Ballet Competition in Nagoya. In 2007 he was awarded German dance prize – Zukunft. In 2010 he was nominated for the Benois de la Danse.

He performed the leading roles in the ballets by Patrice Bart (Swan Lake, Nutcracker), Vladimir Malakhov (Cinderella, La Bayadère, The Sleeping Beauty), Angelin Preljocaj (Le Parc, Le Sacre du printemps), Maurice Béjarts( Ring um den Ring), Jirí Kylián (Sinfonie in D), Ray Barra (The Swan Queen), Boris Eifman (Tschaikowsky), Jerome Robbins (The Concert, Fancy Free), Frederick Ashton (Sylvia), John Cranko (Romeo and Julia, Onegin — Lenski ), Peter Schaufuss (La Sylphide ), Heinz Spörli ( Peer Gynt ), Stanton Welch ( Angel in Clear ), and also August Bournonville, George Balanchine, Clark Tippet, Roland Petit and oth.

His solo and principal parts: Romeo (Romeo and Julia); Pesant pas de deux, Wilfried and Albrecht (Giselle with Polina Semionova); Benno and Siegfried (Swan Lake); Feen-Begleiter, Prinz and Star Dancer (Cinderella); Patissier and Snow Queen Begleiter Prinz (Nutcracker); Lenski (Onegin); Golden Idol, Fakir and Solor (La Bajadere); Walz Boy (Serenade); James (La Sylphide); Kavaliere, Blue Bird and Prinz Desiree (Sleeping Beauty); Conrad and Ali (Le Corsaire); Eros (Sylvia); Achmed (La Peri); Phöbus (La Esmeralda); Peer (Peer Gynt).
