Benois de la Danse laureate

He was born in Moscow into a family of ballet dancers. In 2019, he gradua­ted from the Moscow State Academy of Choreography (teacher – Mikhail Sharkov) and was accepted into the Bolshoi Ballet Troupe. He rehearsed first under the direction of Vladimir Nikonov, and is now under the direction of Andrei Bolotin.

His repertoire includes: Florizel (The Winter’s Tale, choreography by K. Wheeldon), The Golden Idol (La Bayadère by M. Petipa), Benvolio (Romeo and Juliet by S. Prokofiev), The Blue Bird (Sleeping Beauty by M. Petipa), The Fisherman (Pharaoh’s Daughter by P. Lacotte by M. Petipa), Spanish and Chinese dolls (The Nutcracker by Y. Grigorovich), Antoine Mistral (The Flame of Paris), Prince Siegfried (Swan Lake by Y. Grigorovich).

Ist Prize winner of the of the III International Competition of Classical, Modern stage and folk stage choreography Dancemoscow (Moscow, 2017). Won the Ist Prize (junior group) of the International Ballet Competition Grand Prix of Siberia (Krasnoyarsk, 2018), the Grand Prix of the IV All-Russian competition of young performers Russian Ballet (Moscow, 2019), the Ist Prize (senior group) of the XIV International Ballet Competition in Moscow (2022). Smilevsky was a fellow of the Svetlana Zakharova Charitable Foundation.
