Benois de la Danse nominee

Graduated from the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in 1992 (class of Gennady Selutsky) and was accepted into the Mariinsky Theater. He moved to the rank of premier after winning the International competition Maya in St. Petersburg.

In 2000–2003, was the premiere of the National Ballet of the Netherlands, and during 2003–2010 — the premiere of the Royal Ballet of Great Britain.

In 2011–2023 he was the Artistic director of the Ural Ballet in Yekaterinburg, where he produced a number of original performances, which included music by Artem Vasiliev, Yuri Krasavin, Anatoly Korolev, Alexey Sysoev. He opened the annual Dance-Platform choreography workshop; initiated the first Russian productions of ballets by Hans van Manen, Paul Lightfoot and Sol Leon.

Has choreographed performances for the Mikhailovsky Theater, the Ballet of Flanders, the Perm Opera, the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, the Leonid Yakobson Ballet Theater.

Recent works include: The Gift to the music of Leonid Desyatnikov, the world premieres of Dancemania by Yuri Krasavin and Ultima Thule by Vladimir Rannev, Naughty Ditties to the music of Rodion Shchedrin.

Four times winner of the Russian National Theater Award Golden Mask (Variations of Salieri, Tsvetodelika, The Order of the King, Dancemania). Laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation (2022).
