With his technical virtuosity and statuesque expressive demeanor. Desmond Richardson has been hailed by the NY Times as among the great dancers of his time. Lara Hartley poetically described him on the Ballet Magazine website as “Moving Sculpture, a body that is art, passing through time and space with power and grace all parts connected, never stopping but heart stopping in beauty and complexity.” Richardson was recently featured" on PBS Jazz and the Philharmonic at the Adrienne Arsht Center performed an impromptu improv with vocal master Mr. Bobby Mcferrin including Chick Corea, Terrence Blanchard, Baritone Eric Owens and many other notable musicians.

The Dance Magazine Award, Capezio Award, LA Ovation award, Bessie award, The YounArts Alumni Award, a 1986 Young Arts Finalist and Presidential Scholar of the Arts.

Currently you can see Richardson in the feature Film Fall To Rise opposite Daphne Rubin —Vega, Tamara Tunie and Kathrine Crockett, in Video Collaboration with the incredible Trumpeter Grammy Award winner Terrance Blanchard on his new CD Magnetic shot by Nitin Vadukul, was featured on Broadway in the 2013/2014, 7 Tony award nominated hit musical revue After Midnight Directed and Choreographed Tony award winner Warren Carlyle, music of Duke Ellington arranged by Award winning Wynton Marsalis and his 17 piece live orchestra.
