In 1987 she began her studies at the Moscow Ballet Academy, where she was trained by L. Kolenchenko, L. Dobrzhan and Professor Sofia Golovkina. During her studies she danced her first roles in “Nutcracker“, “Coppelia,” La Fille Mal Gardee.”
Between 1992-1994 she was a scholar for the international “New Name” project. In 1994 Miss Kaptsova performed at the United Nations Palace in Geneva as the crowned winner of that program as well as the charity gala evening in the concert hall"Megaro' in Athens. In 1996 she was named as extraordinarily talented Elevin(?) with a personal stipend of the Russian Olympic Committee.
In 1998, after completing the studies, Miss Kaptsova, was admitted to the Bolshoi Theater. At first she danced minor roles in “Sleeping Beauty,“ “Giselle,“ “Swan Lake,“ and “Raymonda.“ But soon she drew attention as a soloist and currently is dancing the leading roles in Paganini” by S. Rakhmaninov, Fantasies about Casanova” by W. A. Mozart, Agon” and, finally, Marie in Nutcracker” (the version of У. Grigorovich).
Nina Kaptsova performed with the Bolshoi Ballet in Petersburg, in China, England, Japan, and Korea.
