Cirio returned to the Boston Ballet as a member of the corps de ballet in 2009, was promoted to Second Soloist in 2010, Soloist in 2011 and Principal in 2012.
Cirio’s repertoire with Boston Ballet includes Prince Désiré and Bluebird (The Sleeping Beauty); the Prince (Cinderella); Prince Siegfried (Swan Lake); the Bronze Idol and Solor (La Bayadère); Oberon and Puck (A Midsummer Night’s Dream); Nutcracker, Cavalier, Snow King and lead Russian dancer (The Nutcracker); Mercutio and Benvolio (Romeo & Juliet); the peasant pas de deux(Giselle); a Sailor (Fancy Free); and the pas de deux(August Bournonville’sWilliam Tell and Flower Festival at Genzano). His repertoire includes roles in George Balanchine’s Theme and Variations, Harlequinade, Ballodella Regina, Symphony in Three Movements, The Four Temperaments, the Third Movement in Symphony in C, Franz in Coppélia, Tarantella and Jewels.
Cirio has danced principal roles in works created by Jiří Kylián, William Forsythe, Wayne McGregor, José Martinez, Alexander Ekman, and ChristopherWheeldon. Cirio originated the principal roles in Jorma Elo’s Awake Only and Experience. Cirio has been commissioned to choreograph works for the Boston Ballet, including Trial in 2014 and fremd in 2015.
Cirio joined the American Ballet Theater as Soloist in 2015. His repertoire includes His Hope in After Effect, Lankendem and Ali the Slave in Le Corsaire, Colas in La fille mal gardée, Prince Guidon in The Golden Cockerel, leading roles in the Chinese Dance and Russian Dance in The Nutcracker, Son in Prodigal Son, Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, Cavalier and the Bluebird in The Sleeping Beauty, Eros in Sylvia, and roles in Chamber Symphony, Company B, Serenade After Plato’s Symposium and Symphonic Variations. Cirio created the roles in After You and Her Notes.
Ciriowas promoted to Principal Dancer in August 2016.
