He was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, in the United States.

Brad Fields is a graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts with a Dregree in Lighting Design.

Mr. Fields has desgned for companies across the United States including the American Ballet Theater and Martha Graham Dance Company.

For the last twelve years he has traveled extensivele throughout the world touring as Lighting Director with ballet and modern companies. He has light designed ballets of Makarova (La Bayadere, Australian Ballet), Nacho Duato (Without Word, Remanso and Multiplicity. Forms of Silence and Emptiness), Jelko Yuresha staging Anton Dolin (Variations For Four), Kevin McKenzie (Transcendental Etudes), Jean-Christophe Maillot (In Volo) and Frederic Franklin (Coppelia).

Brad Fiels is also the resident lighting designer for American Ballet Theater Studio Company.
