Stéphane Bullion was born in Lion and began his danc╛ing education with Rene Bon. In 1994 he entered the 4th course of Paris Opera Ballet School. And being only 17 he joined the corps de ballet of Paris Opera. In 2001 he be╛came Coryphée.

He was invited to dance in ballets by Béjart (Le Concours), Naharin (Perpetuum), C. Carlson (Signes), Neumeier (Sylvia), Bausch (Le Sacre du Printemps) Petit (Passacaille). He was a soloist in Nouriev's Romeo and Juliette and created Faun(е) in V. Nijinski's L'Après-midi d'un Faune. In 2002 he became Soloist of Paris Opera Ballet and danced principal solo roles in such Nouriev's ballets as La Belle au bois dormant, Roméo et Juliette, Le Lac des cygnes, Don Quichotte. He danced in Emeraudes and Les Quatre Tempéraments by Balanchine, L'Oiseau de Feu by M. Béjart, Glass Pieces by Robbins, MC 14/22 “ceci est mon corps” Preljocaj and the main role in Ivan the Terrible by Y. Grigorovich. In Bart's La Petite Danseuse de Degas he created Degas, and in Les Mirages by Lifar he danced a Merchant. In 2007 he created Morel in Les Intermittences du cœur by Petit, Hindley in Wuthering Heights by Belarbi and danced the part of Jason in Songe de Médée by Preljocaj. In December 2007 he became Premier Danseur. His repertory enlarged with the roles of Lucien in Paquita by Lacotte,'Frédéri' in L'Arlésienne by Petit, the main role in Caligula by Le Riche, and the role of 'L'Homme' in La Maison de Bernarda. He danced Armand in Neumeier's La Dame aux Camélia. He created the frst, second and third Pas de Deux in Robbins ballet In the Night, Jean de Brienne and Abderkhman in Raymonda and Solor in La Bayadère. He danced in White Darkness, La Troisième Symphonie de Gustave Mahler, Répliques and in Giselle. Stéphane took part in new creations such as Sept Péchés capitaux. Lionel Hoche's Yamm was created espessially for Bullion, so as the AndréAuria, Wuthering Heights, Abel était … et Chemin de Traverse (performed in 2003 together with dancing choreo╛grapher Mallory Gaudion and in 2006 in l'Amphithéâtre Bastille). He participated in flm productions based on the Paris Opera stagings: Les Intermittences du Coeur (Morel), La Dame aux Camélia (Armand) and In the Night. In 2005 Stéphane Bullion created the main role in Ivan the Terrible by Y. Grigorovich. In 2007 he danced Conrad in Corsaire by Bart in Ekaterinbourg. In 2004-2007 Boullion was on tour in Japan where he performed in M. Legri company.
