Spent her childhood between Italy and France, growing up in an artistic environment. At a very young age, she joined the Paris Opera ballet school where she trained for eight years. At the age of seventeen, she was hired by the Paris Opera Ballet and quickly climbed the ranks. She has participated in major classical ballets as well as contemporary choreographers' creations. On January 5, 2018, Valentine Colasante was named Danseuse Étoile after a performance of Don Quixote, in which she portrayed Kitri.

Her repertoire includes Roméo et Juliette, La Bayadère, Cendrillon, Le Lac des Cygnes, Raymonda (Noureev), Thèmes et Variations, Palais de cristal, Who Cares?, Joyaux (Balanchine), Etudes (Lander), Dances at a gathering, In the night (Robbins), Mayerling (MacMillan), Grand Pas Classique (Gsovsky), Kaguyahime, Bella Figura, Symphony of Psalms, Petite Mort, Gods and Dogs (Kylian), Pas part, In the middle, Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude (Forsythe), AndréAuria (Lock), Tree of Codes, The Dante Project (McGregor), Daphnis et Chloé (Millepied), Speak for yourself (Leon, Lightfoot), The Rite of Spring (Bausch).
She regularly performs in international galas and collaborates with theaters, museums, and associations on artistic projects.
