Benois de la Danse laureate

Born in Seville, he began his studies in the Dance school of the choreographer and teacher Manolo Marín, where he spent many years studying. He was also coached by teachers such as: Manolete, Ciro, Güito, José Antonio, Granero, etc…

His training also covers contemporary dance with maestros such as; Carl Paris, Amgard Von Vandelebem, Luque Tagua, Manuela Nogales, etc…

Parallel to his career as a dancer, he has been working since 2001 as a composer for dance music.
Recently he has been awarded the prize for best music composition for dance in the Madrid 2008 Spanish Dance and Flamenco Choreography Contest.

Co-Director, Choreographer, Flamenco Maestro and Guest Artist Ballet Nacional de España 2004 to 2009. Assistant Choreographer, Coach, Soloist Bailaor, and Choreographer of the Andalusian Dance Company (Compañía de Danza Andaluza) from 1996 to 1998.

His awards: the First prize for Choreography, 1999 Jerez 1st Spanish Dance and Flamenco Choreography Contest; the First prize for Choreography, 1998, Madrid Spanish Dance and Flamenco Choreography Contest; Prize for outstanding dancer, 1998, Madrid Spanish Dance and Flamenco Choreography Contest; “VICENTE ESCUDERO“ and „paco laberinto” prize 1998, Cordoba 15th National Flamenco Contest; Prize for the best music composition for dance, 2008, Madrid Spanish Dance and Flamenco Choreography Contest.

His choreographies works: for Compañía Fernando Romero, Selectas Piezas Varias, premiered in Seville, Sala Joaquín Turina 2008; for Ballet Nacional de España, Caprichos, premiered in the Teatro de la Zarzuela Madrid 2007(currently on tour), Pasito a paso, premiered in the Valencia Auditorio de Ribarroja in June 2009; for Compañía Paco Peña, Requiem premiered in 2007 at the Royal Festival Hall London and others.
