Lloyd Riggins was bom in 1969 in New York. He trained in School of Southern Ballet Theatre, Orlando, Florida. His main teachers was Barbara Riggins, Henning Kronstam, Kevin Haigen. Engagements: Southern Ballet Theatre, Orlando, Florida (1985-1987). Royal Danish Ballet (1987-1995, 1989 as Principal). Since 1995 Hamburg Ballet, as Principal. Starting in 2002 he will help, as special collaborates the Ballet Director, Frank Andersen, in giving the Company its artistic vision. Riggins will stay as Principal Dancer with The Hamburg Ballet. His first roles with The Hamburg Ballet include: The Pas de deux Hello, Sebastian in VIVALDI or What You Will, Hamlet in Hamlet (1997 version), Pas de deux Sheherazade II (Easter Concert 1998, Munich), King Florestan in Mat Ek's The Sleeping Beauty, Petrushka in Nijinsky, Piotr Nikolayevich Sorin in The Seagull, Lloyd in Preludes CV, Gustav von Aschenbach in Death in Venice. And also solos in: Bernstein Dances, Winter Ways from “Images from Bartok”, Messiah.

The husband of the fellow Hamburg dancer Niurka Moredo, since 1991.
