Nadia Veselova-Tencer, artistic director of Canadian Ballet Theatre, graduated from Kirov Ballet Academy, St. Petersburg, Russia (class of Alla Ossipenko). In 1973 she joined Lithuanian Opera and Ballet Theatre company, Vilnius, Lithuania. In 1978 emigrated to Canada and performed with various North American ballet companies.

In 1988 Nadia Veselova-Tencer has founded the Ballet Academy in Toronto, continuing to adhere as artistic director to Vaganova method. In 1993 she worked with leading world ballet stars in International Ballet Gala — Tribute to Alla Ossipenko, at O'Keefe Centre, Toronto, Canada. And in 1995 — in Tribute to Rudolf Nureyev. In 1996 she became artistic director of the Stars of the 21st Century (Les Etoiles du XXIe Siecle) International Ballet Galas.

In this capacity Nadia Veselova-Tencer has been personally associated with more than one hundred leading international ballet stars from many premier companies, such as: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, American Ballet Theatre, Ballet Madrid, Ballet National de Marseille Roland Petit, Ballet Opera Wiesbaden, Boston Ballet, Kirov Ballet, L'Opera de Paris, La Scala de Milano, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, Lithuanian Opera and Ballet Theatre, Munich Ballet, National Ballet of Canada, National Ballet of Cuba, National Ballet of Portugal, New York City Ballet, Royal Ballet — England, Royal Danish Ballet, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet, Vienna State Opera. In 2000-2001 she was member of the jury and choreographer at Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) dance competition in New York, U. S. A.
