Zhao Ming was graduated from the Chinese Dance Major of Beijing Dance Academy. Sponsored by American Asian Foundation, he participated the American Dance Festival and study contemporary dance During his career as a dancer, he has won the Third Prize of Senior Section in the 1st Peach & Plum Cup National Youth Dance Competition, and the Best Performing Award in the National Dance Compe╛tition for the dance, Song of a Convict choreographed and performed himself. In 1996, Zhao Ming was appointed as the dance director and choreographer of Beijing Army Friend Dance Ensemble and up to now.

Zhao Ming has been honored with many awards for his choreographies. The male collective dance Pace, Run & Jump has won the Best Choreo╛graphy Award and Best Collective Dance Award of the 1st Lotus Awards China National Dance Competition. Dance drama Shining Red Star performed by Shanghai Song & Dance Ensemble, has gained Special Prize of the Shanghai 50th Anniversary Excellent Programme of People's Republic of China, Golden Prize of the 2nd China Lotus Awards National Dance Competition and unique Best Choreographer Award as well, and has been nominated as Nationwide Elite Stage Arts Project. His theatrical credits also include ballet Nutcracker performed by China National Ballet, which has been premiered in Shanghai Grand Theatre and warmly received.
