Konstantin Meladze was born in Batumi, Georgia, in 1963 and is a composer, arranger, musical producer and poet active in the fields of pop, pop-rock, rock and musicals. From 1989 to 1993, he worked with his brother, Valery, in the musical group Dialogue, under the direction of Kim Breitburg, and then embarked on an independent career. In 2000, together with Dmitry Kostyuk, he founded the group VIA Gra, which enjoyed widespread popularity and existed until 2012.

For television, Meladze has written the music and lyrics for the musicals Evenings on a Farm near Dikanki (2001),Cinderella (2002), Sorochinsky Fair (2004) and Irony of Fate: Continuation (2007). He likewise wrote music and lyrics for Valery Todorovsky’s film The Thaw (2014). His songs have entered the repertoire of such well-known Russian vocalists as Alla Pugachova, Sofia Rotaru, Grigory Leps, Ann Lorak, Kristina Orbakaite, Taisia Povali and Verka Serduchka (Andrey Danilko).

As a producer, Meladze has worked with the group MBAND and singers Polina Gagarina and Vera Brezhneva. He was also producer of the project Factory of Stars – 7 in 2007 and musical producer and arranger for the film Stilyagi in 2008.

Since 2009, he has been active in Ukraine and became an Honored Arts Worker of Ukraine in 2012.

In 2012, gala evening took place at the New Wave international competition of young performers in Jurmala, Latvia, in which more than 30 singers performed his songs.
