Juan Pablo Ledo was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and began his ballet studies at the age of seven with Wasil Tupin and Lucia Wurst. At 15, he entered the Instituto Superior de Arte at Teatro Colón, where he received a degree as professional dancer. One year later, he joined Julio Bocca’s company, Ballet Аrgentino, where he danced his first principal roles and performed on some of the most prestigious stages in the world.

In 2002, he joined Mauricio Wainrot’s Contemporary Ballet at Teatro San Martín, where he performed leading roles in works such as La Consagración de la Primavera, Carmina Burana and Canciones del Caminante. In 2004, he joined Ballet del Teatro Colón, where he became a principal dancer. His repertoire with the company includes the Nutcracker Prince in Nureyev’s The Nutcracker, Des Grieux in MacMillan’s Manon, Onegin and Lensky in Cranko’s Onegin, James in Lacotte’s La Sylphide, Don José in Wainrot’s Carmen, Basilio in Don Quixote and Conrad and Ali in Le Corsaire.

Ledo has appeared as guest artist in many galas around the world, including the Commemoration Gala for the 80th anniversary of the creation of Ballet del Teatro Colón.

He was also invited to participate in Miami’s International Festival (2004 and 2009), the International Star Gala of Santo Domingo (2006) and the International Ballet Festival of Havana (2008 and 2010). In 2007, he took part in a national tour with Ballet Argentino which concluded with a farewell tribute to Julio Bocca in Buenos Aires.

He choreographed Buenos Aires respira tango (“Buenos Aires breathes tango”) for Ballet del Teatro Colón. In 2008, he created his own company, Ballet de Camara, which he took on several national and international tours.

In 2009, Ledo was chosen by choreographer Christopher Wheeldon as principal dancer for a tour to New York, London and Amsterdam. In 2010, he was invited by Julio Bocca to participate in a gala for the 75th anniversary of Ballet del Sodre, and also by the South African Ballet to take part in their productions of The Nutcracker and Romeo and Juliet. In 2012, he premiered his own show, Taco, Punta y… Traspié, a combination of ballet and tango, with his troupe Ballet de Camara.

In 2013, undertook a tour with his company to some of the most important stages in Chile and Brazil. He was chosen to represent Argentina by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Shanghai International Festival.
